Harmony is a Choir of Sanctuary. We support people seeking sanctuary through music, wellbeing, learning conversational English, cultural exchange, and building a community of support and respect.
We sing for unity, peace, inclusion and social justice. We provide bus tickets and refreshments (and sometimes a celebratory meal) for people who are seeking sanctuary in West Yorkshire. We currently have members from across the globe, and between us, we speak and sing in more than 10 languages.
Things our members say about us
“Harmony is my family. Singing together holds me up in the hard times, and reminds me that I have a voice.”
“Harmony is my home from home. When you come from miles away over seas and mountains, at Harmony, lovely people welcome you to join in song, dance, and celebration.”
“The songs we sing have carried me through some of the toughest phases of my life & also made my heart swell with joy when I needed it the most.”
“Singing always brightens my day. It’s good for your physical health, your mental health, and you get to spend time with a lovely group of people.”
